2026-02-12 — Restructure from empirical replication to theory paper

Decision: Restructure the repository from the old Epstein & Posner loyalty replication to a theory paper on the binding force of law (horizontal stare decisis with holdings as linear constraints).

Reason: The project has evolved. The current working paper (multidimensional_model.tex) is a formal theory paper, not an empirical replication. The old scripts, data, and outputs are no longer part of the active project.

Alternatives considered: Keep the old structure alongside the new paper; maintain parallel empirical and theory tracks.

Implications: Old empirical work is preserved in git history but removed from the working tree. The repository now follows workspace conventions (docs/, source/, paper/).
